Rockland County Homeowners – Tax Exemption on O&R Delivery Charges

August 27, 2012 at 2:38 pm

Beginning September 1, 2012 Rockland County is imposing a 4% sales and use tax on homeowners for energy sources and services. For those homeowners that are currently purchasing their energy from an Energy Services Company (ESCO) they will be exempt from sales tax on the O&R delivery charges. Therefore, the net effect of the tax will only be 2% for homeowners who have an alternate energy supplier. If you are still purchasing your energy from O&R then the effect will be the total tax imposed of 4%.
